A Queuing Model with Markovian Arrival and LCFS Priority System and General Time for Service

چکیده
We consider a single server queuing system with repeated attempts in which customers arrive according a Markov arrival process (MAP) and with a LCFS PR discipline. The service times are independent and have a common general distribution. After service completion time the server initiates his search time with an arbitrary distribution function. We consider two cases where the maximum number of repeated customers waiting in the orbit to seek service again is limited by r (r<∞) or can be unlimited (r=∞). We derive the steady state probabilities of the embedded Markov chain at service completion time of the process and also steady state probabilities of underlying Markov’s linear process.

A Non-Preemptive Two-Class M/M/1 System with Prioritized Real-Time Jobs under Earliest-Deadline-First Policy
This paper introduces an analytical method for approximating the performance of a two-class priority M/M/1 system. The system is fully non-preemptive. More specifically, the prioritized class-1 jobs are real-time and served with the non-preemptive earliest-deadline-first (EDF) policy, but despite their priority cannot preempt any non real-time class-2 job. The waiting class-2 jobs can only be s...

In this paper we report on a study of a two level preemptive priority queue with balking and reneging for lower priority level. The inter-arrival and the service times for both levels follow exponential distribution. We use a finite difference equation approach for solving the balance equations of the governing queuing model whose states are described by functions of one independent variable. H...
متن کاملANALYSIS OF FINITE BUFFER RENEWAL INPUT QUEUE WITH BALKING AND MARKOVIAN SERVICE PROCESS
This paper presents the analysis of a renewal input finite buffer queue wherein the customers can decide either to join the queue with a probability or balk. The service process is Markovian service process ($MSP$) governed by an underlying $m$-state Markov chain. Employing the supplementary variable and imbedded Markov chain techniques, the steady-state system length distributions at pre...
متن کاملMODELLING AND ANALYSIS OF A DISCRETE-TIME PRIORITY QUEUING COMPUTER NETWORK WITH PRIORITY JUMPS USING PROBABILITY GENERATING FUNCTIONS
Priority queues have a great importance in the study of computer communication networks in which different types of traffic require different quality of service standards. The discrete-time non-preemptive priority queuing model with priority jumps is proposed in this paper. On the basis of probability generating functions mean system contents and mean queuing delay characteristics are obtained....
متن کاملSecond Moment of Queue Size with Stationary Arrival Processes and Arbitrary Queue Discipline
In this paper we consider a queuing system in which the service times of customers are independent and identically distributed random variables, the arrival process is stationary and has the property of orderliness, and the queue discipline is arbitrary. For this queuing system we obtain the steady state second moment of the queue size in terms of the stationary waiting time distribution of a s...
